How Listings Work
Plain answers about who is listed, what it costs, and how results are ordered.
Using Step One is free
Searching the directory, reading listings, finding meetings and contacting providers is free for anyone. You never need an account, and we never sell your information.
Who pays for a listing
Providers pay a flat $15 a month (or $150 a year) to keep a listing on Step One. Every provider pays the same price. That fee covers hosting and keeps the site running and independent. Free resources such as recovery meetings, crisis lines and community support groups are listed at no cost.
Paying does not buy a better spot
There are no "featured" or "sponsored" placements. Results are listed A to Z within each category, and filters only show or hide listings based on what a provider offers. No one can pay to appear first, and we don't run ads.
How we review listings
- Every new listing is reviewed by a person before it appears.
- We check that the provider operates in Colorado and fits the category it chose.
- Badges such as CARR certified reflect information the provider gives us. Where a public registry exists, we check it.
- Providers can update their own listing at any time. Changes go live right away, and we're notified so we can review them.
- If a provider stops paying, its listing is hidden until the subscription is renewed.
What a listing is, and isn't
A listing is information provided by the business. It is not a recommendation, a guarantee of quality, or medical advice. Always confirm price, insurance, openings and licensing directly with the provider. Each listing shows the month it was last updated.
See something wrong?
Every listing has a Report a problem link. You can also contact us. We read every report and correct or remove listings that are inaccurate.
